Google Maps API gets rooftop geocoding

Yesterday the Official Google Maps API blog announced that they now have rooftop geocoding!

This new service delivers pinpoint results for more than 50 million US addresses.

This means that Google Maps will now pinpoint the exact location of a house (placing a pin on the roof of the house at the address you are searching for). An example is embedded in the blog post.

Microsofts Virtual Earth has rooftop geocoding for 44 million+ addresses, so time for them to speed up!
